Silk Press Start to Finish

Silk Press Start to Finish

What is a Silk Press?

It’s a press and curls upgrade. A silk press transforms hair from its natural state of curly or wavy to silky straight without the pain of an old-school press and curl.

How to do a silk press?

Step 1 - Cleanse and Condition hair

Remove old residue and product build-up with a healthy shampoo that leaves hair clean but not weak. Follow up with a conditioner that restores the moisture lost from everyday styling.

Step 2 - Apply a heat protectant

We cannot stress this enough, heat protectant is nonnegotiable because it’s a blockade from the effects of heat damage caused by using hot tools.

Step 3 - Blow out hair

Be sure to get the roots and not just the tips, hair should be completely dry once completed. Your blowout can be done with a round brush or the attachment just be sure to leave no hair untouched.

Step 4 - Flat Iron hair

Working in sections, glide the flat iron over each section from root to tip. Depending on the hair type you might consider using a titanium flat iron over a ceramic flat iron. Just keep in mind the pros and cons of both.

Step 5 - Finishing Spray

Finish the style with a finishing spray that gives you silk press the extra little shine it needs.
