Before we can get to the scalp, there is a hair shaft that also needs to be moisturized. The outermost layer of the hair shaft is where the natural oils lye but often get broken down leaving hair dry and lacking luster. Next time your hair is feeling dry try one of these oils:
With its Vitamin E, fatty acids, and emollients which cover the hair shaft to trap moisture olive oil is great for bringing life back into the hair.
How to use: Apply oil to your hair and massage, leave in, and apply heat with a shower cap or wrapped in a warm towel. Once hair is saturated, detangle with a wide-toothed comb or our Silk-Touch Detangler brush and rinse thoroughly.
With its Omega – 9 fatty acids, protein, and Vitamin E almond oil stimulates hair growth while bringing back the shine. It can also soften hair and make it more manageable.
How to use: Apply to hair focusing on the ends. Continue styling as normal unless hair feels greasy in which case rinse before styling.
With its natural source of biotin, antioxidants, and nourishing minerals avocado oil brings strength back into the hair. Avocado oil can also repair and protect from environmental damage.
How to use: Use as a hot oil treatment. Heat oil slightly by placing the oil container into a bowl filled with hot water for about 10 minutes or until the oil is warm but not scorching, apply to the hair leaving it in for about 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and style as usual.
With its Vitamin E and omega – 3 fatty acids coconut oil penetrates your hair shaft to hydrate and bring the shine back to hair.
How to use: Apply oil to hair as a leave-in being sure to warm it in your palms because the heat helps to open the hair shaft for the coconut oil to permeate. Rinse out and style as usual.
